Default Looking to buy a new Panasonic.

Hi, i'm looking at upgrading my tv and came across this one and was wondering if people have had any experience with it or if they knew more about it.
Im upgrading from the Sony kdl40v5500, would it be worth the upgrade?

Don't know what your price range is, but you can pick up the Panasonic 50 inch VT25 for about 2700 and its 3d. Picked mine up about a month ago.

Thumbs up Panny plasma

It would definitely be an upgrade from the Sony. The new Pannys are absolutely awesome.

Well if I may suggest you go with atleast the G models and if you have the money for the VT then go for it but I'm more than happy with y G20 54 inch. the G model is made in size 50 or 54.

I would personally get the best Panasonic (non-3D) that is available where you live...and I only say non-3d because I am anti 3d, that "feature" choice is really up to you.

Guys in New Zealand the 50" VT model is $4,999, so that's not going to help the OP much.

OP - if you can stretch it to $2,500 you could get the 42" V20 model. Otherwise if you want a bigger panel the 50"S10 for $1,839 from LV Martin looks like a good deal and it is a nice set.

If you want to keep the cost even lower you can get the 42" G10 from LV for $1,299 - http://www.lvmartin.co.nz/public/pro...vel2code=L2PLA

Based on the responses I'm sure we were the only two that noticed his location until he mentioned it.

Just enjoy it man, there are a lot that didnt' break it in and it works just fine. Best to not stress about it and just enjoy it. I own 2 panny's now and love them both, you should do the same.

Go for it - any time you spot any image retention just run the white scroll bar. I've never had to run it for more than 2 minutes to clear up any static images left by the PS3 menu or game logos and it doesn't happen very often. Gets better the more hours I get on mine.

Good choice not going with the floor model, they can't guarantee it wasn't set up in VIVID mode for any particular length in time. I will never buy a display model, plasma, DLP, LCD or otherwise.

Hi avecha, mind sharing your calibration settings? I've had my 50u20 for two weeks now and been searching for the best calibration settings but couldn't find one.

Thanks!
