Default What 3D tech do I need?

Sorry for the newbie type question but i think I am missing something.
  • I have a PC with 3D gfx card, TMT3 for 3D playback.
  • I am looking for a 3D tv ( no probs there )

I need to know if I need a 3D amp also?

My set up is as follows

computer via HDMI 1.3 to amp ( windows 7 and TMT3 )
Sony Amp HDMI 1.3 to regular HDTV ( soon to be upgraded to a 3Dtv)

Do I also have to upgrade my gfx card to HDMI 1.4 and/or my cables (or not)
Do I need to buy a new AMP to go with the setup?

.I know a lot about 3D TV, but I'm not sure how (or if) what you're trying to do is possible, since I don't know the computer side of things. As for the receiver, if you are running 3D content through it, you'll need to replace the receiver. If you are bypassing the receiver, or running optical/coaxial seperately, you can continue to use it. If however, your computer outputs in side-by-side format, you can use it with existing receiver. If it ouputs 720p60fps or 1080p24fps then you will probably need a new video card that is 3D certified, a new receiver, and a new TV.

Thanks for this. Looks like I will need a new reciever then. My computer runs one HDMI out so my reciever does all the work. I will factor this is when I look at my tech.

Thanks.

I'm zero in 3D world.
I just purchased a Panasonic TX-P65VT20 TV

For glasses can I buy from another brand? I wanted to buy a Samsung 3D glasses.

What about the 3d blu-ray player? I prefer the brand Sony..
Not sure Panasonic blu-ray players are good but as I said I prefer Sony.

By the way why do we need a new 3d blu-ray player for? Why make us buy another player? Couldn't they just provide new firmware

Thanks for the tips

Wait... don't you get one free pair of glasses with the TV? You'll have to buy Panasonics brand of glasses, you can use a Sony 3D blu-ray player.
As for the bolded part that's just the way it goes.

They wont work. Samsung 3D glasses only work for Samsung 3DTV, Panasonic 3D glasses only work for Panasonic 3DTV, etc.
