Default Onkyo tx-nr1007 good choice?

Thinking about finally upgrading my receiver to an Onkyo tx-nr1007 refurb at accessories4less for 699.99? It's my first move away from Yamaha and towards Onkyo. Anyone have any suggestions of other models and deals I should be looking at? Thanks...

The 1007 is a good choice. ...A great choice actually!

* It amazes me the huge discounts you guys have on those Onkyo receivers from Accessories4less!
I mean 50 to 60% off on some excellent receivers, fully loaded and heavily built.

The 1007 has Audyssey MultEQ XT, 9 power amplifiers, 2 sub outs, THX, and more... WoW! And it now cost only 700 clams! How can you lose?

Thanks for the reply. I was thinking I would see you in here lotr!

Is it worth it to make the jump to 3007 for 950? HQV only affects upconversion no? My library is mostly blu now. Is there any other reason for the 3007? I will be using external amps soon any way, so the extra wattage isn't necessary either....hmm

Just wanted to say... My 1007 still feels like a bargain for the $1k I paid for it. $700 is a no-brainer. It has been an absolutely fantastic AVR, and height channels added a very surprising fullness to the sound of my rig.

Plus, Audyssey MultEQ XT > Yamaha's auto-setup any day of the week, IMHO. I think you're gonna be very happy with it.

The 3007 adds the HQV Reon video processor; can you make use of it?
If yes, then go for it! If no, stay with the 1007 in Passthrough video mode.
Your TV is a 42" one, I'd say stick with the 1007. ...Or unless you intend to get a projector in the near future.
Besides you mostly watch Blu-rays. No need for the Reon here.

* By the way, the 3007 sells for $899.90 at Frys (brand new)!
Any Frys audio store near you? ...But like I said, do you watch a lot of DVDs and Cable Box or Satellite TV?

That's a nice one too, to use as a pre/pro. You're just making life harder for yourself now!
Personally, I'd still get the 1007. But that's just me.

I have to agree, I have the 1007 and I bought it at the beginning of the year and have had zero issues with it and it really woke up my speakers. The only problem I'm having with it right now is that it is still in the box down in the cave....along with all of my audio equipment...dang. I moved to Italy back in August and I have yet to unpack my stuff, the houses here are cement with tiled floors and I have a lot of work to do here to quite/tame the room. This is my 2nd time to live here in the past 6 years and the 1st time I just hooked up and played this time I would like to take of the room a little first.

OOps...sorry for getting off track. I spent $1100 for my 1007 and I dont have any remorse what so ever....I love this thing and dont see me upgrading any time soon. I was going to go with seperates as well but once I hooked up the 1007 and ran MultEQ XT, I found myself completely satisfied with what I heard from my speakers, so I ended up spending the $ on a AS-EQ1 to help with the duals.....nice.

Sorry guys, went with the 3311CI and am very pleased. Feature rich, wonderful sound, integrated well with my NAD S200. Setup was a breeze, firmware update worked without issue, multiEQ xt is just as good as everyone claims. Highly Recommended Receiver, especially at $700.

Looks like it is onkyos referb or clearence site. All of the contact info for the site is pointing to onkyo the corporation so I would have to say yes they are most certainly an authorized dealer.

Thanks,
T
