Thanks for the news. Pixar probably needs a win as they've been struggling lately with their films in theaters not finding a larger audience, Elio being a recent example.

That's a nice Gatto painting, possibly concept art by Pixar. By some miracle, I really hope Pixar breaks out of their expected CGI style and makes it look like a painting like that image. That would be awesome.

The success of the Spider-Verse series and DreamWorks branching out to it means the "Painted CGI" style is in. I'm hoping Pixar make the jump - it'll look good in native 3D.

I was thinking of that Spider-Verse film, and I agree, it switched things up nicely for something new and innovative compared to the same old basic rendered styles of CGI we've been seeing for decades. This could be great if they take a chance with a painted look.

TMNT Mutant Mayhem, that painted look was really cool IMO, even if the style was a bit clunky for some characters.
