** Will Umbrella ever consider releasing THE ISLAND (1980) on blu? **

Umbrella released THE ISLAND (1980) on dvd recently with a pretty decent widescreen presentation. While it is definitely good enough for the moment, has anyone considered emailing them to see if they would consider releasing it on blu-ray, as a 1080p release would look fantastic!

Here is a brief clip from the widescreen dvd release. Keep in mind that the red bars do NOT show up when playing this film on your HDTV, nor is there the PAL speed-up such as what is in the clip link.

Most of Umbrella's Blu-rays have been ports from other countries, so I guess if it gets a release in the UK, we may well see it crop up here too....albeit a few months later.

I've never seen the film myself, but damn that poster art is pretty cool!
