Seeing as it's coming from 20th Century Fox, there won't be a 3D Blu-ray so it's one to see theatrically or not at all.

Yes, they stopped 3D discs long before Disney bought them.

They put out a 3D blu ray for Alita, that was after Disney bought them.

This is true but I don't think it has any bearing on the likelihood of Ron's Gone Wrong getting a 3D Blu-ray.

Only because Mr. Cameron got involved.

Sadly that was about his only involvement in the project. What could have been...

How is it that this film has been in lockdown limbo for a year but I'm only just now hearing about it?

I'm surprised there are still any 3D movies in theaters, seems there's an agenda to completely get rid of them.

I think Disney isn’t releasing this film in theaters in 3d showtimes have started to appear and not one theatre in all of California or Florida has a 3D showtime so are we sure this film is being released in 3D in theaters is it possible the 3D conversion was never done or not finished. Does anyone see any 3D showtimes for this film?

No, but that does not spell doom as my theaters have been extremely bipolar with 3D for Shang Chi, Venom 2, Free Guy, and NTTD. Venom 2 has been a hecukuva ride as they did offer 3D advance tickets, nixed those showings, but now are bringing back 3D showings of V2 this weekend->next week.

FWIW, even though it is releasing the same day as Dune, Cinemark tells me that it is not yet offering advance ticket sales for Ron's Gone Wrong. They are currently selling advance tix for Dune.

Cineworld (the parent company of Regal) seems to be showing this in 3D, so they probably just haven't put out any times for the US yet.

I think I'll probably have to skip this one in 3D :-( It has a very limited number of 3D screenings at a limited number of Cineworlds (so at least we are getting the 3D version in the UK) but I wouldn't be able to make any of them unless I took a day off work! Don't really know how they can gauge the popularity of 3D if the only screenings are at a time people who work can't make. To be fair, there are 3D screenings this Sat/Sun but I can't make those either.

If it's still showing in 3D the following weekend (23/24 Oct) I may just be able to catch it.

This looks fun. I’d buy a 3D Blu if on the off chance one were actually released in at least one country in the world.

Sure don’t know why they bother making movies in 3D only for theaters to not show them- seems the studios could insist that they only be shown in 3D.

So far 2D only advance bookings for this one in Regal USA, which is a shame because they normally show everything in 3D, to the point I'm now assuming this isn't getting a US 3D release.
