Monitor 50 Surrounds question

So I want to use polk monitor 50 speakers as my surround left and right. I was wondering about the height of these speakers, I am worried that they will be blocked by the furniture as they will sit only 1-2 feet from the bed/couch and the furniture goes about half way up the speaker.

I was thinking about putting them on risers or something, any suggestions?

Thanks for all the input, I really think I am going to put the speakers on risers but I don't know where to begin looking for items that would help me out. I thought about a small end table from Ikea but there isn't an one near me; maybe they have a small end table at Target or Walmart.
