Default Oppo BDP-105 as a Pre-Pro?

Oppo BDP-105: Not your average Blu-ray player - Steve Guttenberg - CNET - January 26, 2013

Hey guys,

I came across this article, and was wondering if anyone has actually done this. I've been thinking of upgrading my AVR for a while as I'm not happy with its music performance, and lack of 3D support. I was mainly looking to upgrade a receiver first, but then read about the 105 with the better DACs than most receivers in the $1k range, as well as support for a couple of digital inputs. The ability to use it as a separate DAC was also something I found to be a useful feature to have, given most of my music is digital.

Does anyone have experience using the 105 as a pre-pro? If not, your thoughts maybe? I looked at the Oppo thread but couldn't find anything(maybe I searched for the wrong keyword ), so thought of asking it here. Not even sure where this thread fits(Receiver, BD Player, or Separate)

With the 2 HDMI inputs, it meets my current needs, and if later I feel the need, I can always add a receiver, or an HDMI switch(I don't have any analog components currently)

My current setup:
Panasonic 55VT50
Fronts: Sonus Faber Concertino Domus
Center: Sonus Faber Center Domus
Surrounds: Klipsch Quintet
AVR: Harman Kardon AVR-254
Amp: Marantz MM9000 5 Channel Amp
BD: PS3 Slim

Thanks!
