What should I pickup from the US that we don't have here in Canada? - Blu-ray Forum

What are some of the best US Releases we don't have here in Canada yet or releases we have but are not as good as the US Release?

so far I know US has:

Gremlins
Army of Darkness
Goonies

what else should I be looking to pickup from the US?

uhhh you can get all those in Canada(the same), and goonies isnt released yet

Pretty much anything the US has, we have. However, Canada does not have discs for:
-Pirate Radio
-Taking Woodstock

The newer/better US discs for No Country for OLd Men and Gangs of New York are being released in Canada in Sept.

is Gremlins is out in canada yet? Blu-ray.com says coming September 14th?

and Goonies was released in UK

Yeah it came out the same day as the US disc. That newer bluray.com listing is for either a new amazon price change or cover art change (such as no slipcover maybe now..., dunno). Search amazon.ca for titles you're looking for.

BATTLE FOR TERRA. Was excited to pick this up when i went to buffalo. if it was ever released in canada, its nowhere to be found.

turns out, so-so movie and so-so video.

I would recommend you pick up

Brooklyn's Finest
Law Abiding Citizen

The US Version of Brooklyn's Finest is in proper AR and has a PCM 5.1 track.

Law Abiding Citizen in the US has BOTH Cuts on the single release (I believe two discs)

The remastered version of Gangs Of New York

I picked up the Hong Kong version of Pulp Fiction in NYC, its worth a purchase as well

If you going by the end of the month and still no news of a Canadian release: Anchorman.

Besides that, pretty much what they have, we have. Some stuff like Brooklyn's Finest, Gangs of New York is better. I also heard Kill Bill Vol 1 and 2 have better audio than the CDN release.

An American visiting CDN wold have more things to look for.

not true, we have the same versions available here
maybe the new alliance double feature has weaker audio
but we have the same pcm tracks as the US on the individual releases

The Phantom 2010 version is not out in Canada as of yet and on the blu ray release calander it doesn't exist for Canada.

I bought Gremlins like 2 months ago as a previously viewed movie from Blockbuster for $8
