GLOW: The Story of the Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling - Kickstarter

The people who did the wonderful documentary The Rock-afire Explosion have a new documentary in the pipeline, this one focused on GLOW. They've got a Kickstarter asking for funds to help with the finishing touches, and if you donate $50 or more, you get a pre-release Blu-ray of the finished film. :)

Anyway, I hadn't heard of it till an email I just got from being signed up to the Rock-afire mailing list. Guess this Kickstarter project has been going since May... They've only got 9 days left. Hope it gets funded; the movie looks ridiculously entertaining.

This brings back some great memories. I remember it would come on after WWF Programming here in Nyc on the weekends. I can still hear my father and uncle talking about the girls when the show would come on. "The Farmers Daughter" being their favorite....lol

I never even knew what GLOW was until I saw this, but I'm very interested. The Rock-afire Explosion was such a fun and interesting documentary that I have high hopes for the team's current and future projects. I also just think the subject looks really entertaining. :p

They've been offered a TV deal, but they gotta get the money to do all the finishing touches.

I think that's the major trouble with this Kickstarter project: almost no publicity. Apparently it's been going since sometime in May, but I didn't hear word through the Rock-afire mailing list until a week ago. I'm guessing a lot of people who may be interested just haven't heard about the Kickstarter fund. Pretty frustrating. :\

21 hours to go with just under $7,000 short. Too bad I don't know anybody with big bux.

Not sure if Missy Hyatt's in this or not. She's one I had a crush on as a little kid and used to be 'gorgeous' in the early 90s. Shame she got so trashy over time. At a house show I was surprised to see her hanging out in the general lobby and it was kind of funny as she was hogging the pay phone at the event. This was back when crew pretty much toured non-stop and had to provide their own transportation. At that same show guys like Arn Anderson and Bobby Eaton were walking through the parking lot. That particular show must've been fewer than like 500 people in attendance and back in those days I remember tickets were like $2 for cheaper seats a bit further back and up to maybe $15 or so for ringside. Don't know how they made money and I'm guessing Ted Turner was just burning cash at a loss.
