What, No Birthday Thread? - Blu-ray Forum

After coming home from work, I expected to find everybody wishing the PS3 a happy birthday. The North American PS3 came out 4 years ago today. Did everybody forget or did I just not look hard enough for the thread?

I still remember launch day. I was working at Walmart at the time, had just been promoted to department manager of electronics (Nov. 17th was my first day on the job), and we only had 13 PS3's to sell. One unlucky person was declined at the register and so the 14th person in line was able to purchase his launch system. I ended up getting mine a month later but it's still alive and kicking. It's been through about 5 YLoD's but she's holding strong.

Ah yes, I remember getting off work at 7 am November 16, and heading over to Future Shop. I was 9th in line when I got there and was 9th in line the next morning - they had eight 60 gb models available so I got a 20gb - it's still going strong today, will finally update the drive in the next week or two for Gran Turismo.

Let me tell you there weren't too many 50 year olds in that line up

I have an original 60GB BC PS3. Never had a problem with it and still running strong.

Mine too! Although I just retired mine to my bedroom. Picked up a Slim on Saturday. Long live the PS3!!! Four more years!!!

Still using my launch PS3. And next week I will finally get to play the game I bought it for, GT5!!

I bought it for Madden but I haven't played that in a LONG time. Will probably get Final Fantasy XIII the next time I get extended time off from work so I can knock it off in one go.
