Just trying to show some family members how much of a difference blu ray can make over dvd, and looking for some screens and comparisons of dvd's that have been given the blu ray treatment and have been taken and had side by side screen shot comparisons of them.
Anyone have a really good one they know of off the top of their head? |

"Bound"
It's only come out in France, but it's an amazing Blu-ray. The DVD was very poor, the encoding was awful (never seen a worse DVD transfer). It's such a visually striking movie watching the Blu was like watching it in the theater again. I think because it's such a huge upgrade it's in my top 3 favorite Blu's. |

One thing to bear in mind is the size of your screen.. Bigger (or projected) will show off Blu Rays detail to more effect.. If you have the type of viewer who wants to swear blind theres hardly any difference ask them to zoom in on a scene on a dvd and then do the same on the blu ray

Am a nutter for going back and forth between blu and its dvd counterpart. At the moment choose anything which as the dvd as part of the set when you purchase the blu ray. On older versions here are a few due to the fact the dvds are less than stellar or the blu ray is so sharp.
1 ) Sin City and Minority Report are at number 1 2) POTC part one 3) Gladiator new transfer 4) Saving Private Ryan 5) Alien and Aliens 6) Seven 7) King Kong 2006 version. 8) Films shot With Hd camera's Zodiac , Knowning , On new fims Avatar blows away its counterpart and all Dinsey Pixar will show true power. On my top two here are two scenes that will blow you away. On Minority Report go to when Tom Cruise drops in the park at the beginning. The Blu ray shows every blade of grass and bush and every house is so sharp. Then watch the dvd and laugh. Also every scene in Sin City but a good example is when Bruce Willis is on the Pier at the start. It will blow you away when you see the dvd trying to do the same job but cannot bring the wood into sharpness in the background or on the pier itself. |

It is a huge difference, but think that's because the DVD looks not good at all. My suggestions: Untouchables(This is the biggest surprise in my collection.Looks fantastic!) The Thing(Was really surprised after EFNY) Se7en (Dutch or new release) Goldfinger(Fantastic quality) Pulp fiction |
