Default BDs for a mother...

So, I just bought a Sony EX40B 32in 1080p w/ build in BD player for my mom for Christmas! But, I'm having a hard time picking out some BDs for her! I want to knock her socks off because this is here first HDTV/BD player, but I've must of those kind of titles!

I was thinking of may getting 3 titles...

1. Sound of Music Digibook
2. ???
3. ???

Thanks,
Bryan

Smile What genres does she watch?

I'd be happy to recommend some titles, but what kind of movies does she like?

To go with Sound of Music, I say Charade(Criterion) and Wizard of Oz.

Easy... "It's a Wonderful Life." Not only does it come with both the B&W and color versions on the Blu-Ray, but everyone I know enjoys this movie, and it matches the Christmas time spirit.

Everyone seems to give you their favorite movie as your ppotential choice but I will stop this and give you an objective assesment regardless of my tastes.

- UP (you should get her at least one animation, and while its far from my favorite one, this movie is very influential and emotional for adults while also being absolute referance PQ/AQ)

- Avatar (sheer beauty on blu ray)

One classic title is enough, so my advice get UP plus one more newer title (like Avatar) .

Honourable mention - Beauty and The Beast

I don't know here trastes, but I don't think anyone could dislike: Sound of Music, Julie and Julia and Up.

The Expendables, but seriously I would aim for something animated if she is into that, maybe a Disney Classic or something of the sort.
