Just announced from Scream Factory!

Quote:
Optimistic about their future, well-off parents Kate (Carey Lowell) and Phil (Dwier Brown) hire the pleasant and lovely young Camilla (Jenny Seagrove) to live with them and care for their new baby. Though Camilla seems like an answer to their prayers, she proves to be more than she appears, and a diabolical plot involving the wellbeing of their child is uncovered. The young parents are forced to fight supernatural forces for the life of their vulnerable offspring.

one of the (only) 2 films I'm excited about with tonight's announcements... I find this flick to be underrated and actually pretty scary in spots...

I have to keep this on my radar and I'm surprised there isn't more talk about this title. Hoping SF adds a bit more punch in the extras department other than porting over the existing extras from the Anchor Bay release. I'm still keeping the Anchor Bay DVD release though.

I almost bought a copy of this on DVD for 35 bucks a few months back, honestly believing this would never see the light of day on Blu-ray. Glad I lost the auction....

Glad to see this one coming out, now I wish SOMEONE would release Dark Side of the Moon (1990), at least this title got a DVD release, the former only ever saw a VHS release stateside to my knowledge.

I always thought this was better than its reputation. There are quite a few genuine creepy moments with a gory over the top ending that somehow reminded me of Evil Dead. Nice to see this coming to Blu-ray.

I liked this movie and too thought it was underrated, but I haven't seen it in like 15 years, so my opinion may have changed drastically. All I recall was maybe some boring nursery scenes and a bloody tree getting cut by a chainsaw that I think had children's faces. I think the villain was Mystique too.

I liked it too but many people worry too much about the sillier aspects of the screenplay and dismiss it outright. It's actually a creepy little horror flick and I found it to be quite entertaining.

If they could get hold of Friedkin for an Audio commentary or an interview it would be amazing. But given he didn't even mention the film in his memoir i guess its more thean slim.

I liked this quite a bit but I hope they cut out the short scene where the baby falls on the ground because... the plastic doll isn't fooling anyone. I can't believe Friedkin would even allow something that in the final product.

I've wanted this film on blu-ray, ever since the format became popular. It's a very interesting horror film with some fantastic bloody effects and a unique plot. Been out of print for years. Day 1 for me!

The Anchor Bay DVD that came out in 1999 had an audio commentary by William Friedkin along with a moderator, but unfortunately they spent most of the time discussing everything EXCEPT "The Guardian." It was one of the worst audio commentaries I'd ever listened to, including Friedkin's "descriptive audio" commentary track that he did for "The Exorcist."

The trailer is the very last bonus feature.

I think the case mislabeled a 5.1 mix because it's 2.0 on the disc.

They got back to me about the trailer:
Shout! Factory
No trailer on this one.
2:39 p.m., Tuesday Jan. 19

Shout! Factory’s comment is in reply to Doombear:
is the Trailer going to be included on the disc? It doesn't look like it.

I guess I'll be keeping my Boogeymen disc which has the trailer on it.
