France Legend (Ridley Scott)

Ridley Scott's Legend (1985) has received a preliminary release date for the Gallic markets: May 25th. Nominated for Oscar for Best Makeup (Rob Bottin/Peter Robb-King).

Synopsis:

A demon who seeks to create eternal night by destroying the last of the unicorns and marrying a fairy princess is opposed by the forest boy Jack and his elven allies in this magical fantasy. Two different versions of this picture feature soundtracks by either Tangerine Dream or Jerry Goldsmith.

OMG! Yes! I was just thinking about this movie a few nights and was wondering when they were going to get around to releasing it.

Now hopefully they won't mess with it with those damn forced subs!

Fox is releasing it in France, so you will not have forced french subs on the english track. And it will be the european cut with the J. Goldsmith score

there are 3 cuts for Legend.

European (Goldsmith Score), 94 Minutes (on region 2 dvd)
American (Tangerive Dream Score), 89 minutes (region 1 dvd)
Director's Cut (Goldsmith Score), 113 Minutes (on region 1 dvd).

And I have only seen 1 of those many years ago.
I wasn't impressed with it back then but am really interested right now in giving it another chance.

I only would buy this when it's on Blu-Ray and has AT LEAST the American and the director's cut.

Jerry is the MAN! I grew up with the TD score since that's what was released when I was younger, but when the later collectors DVD came out with Jerry's unreleased score, I quickly warmed up to it and now have the soundtrack
