I know this might not be terribly helpful, but at that kind of money have you considered better component stereo setup?I would put in abit more money and go for a stereo setup. You get better quality sound, but ofcourse miss the surround experience.I have a stereo setup, and am very satisfied with that

why going to a 2.0 or 2.1 system while I am getting a 6.2 with very powerful and (seeming) rich experience

With that system you're buying old technology for a fairly high price. It doesn't decode the HD audio formats from blu ray movies (Dolby TrueHD and dtsHD Master Audio). I don't understand why anyone would buy older tech now days. The HDMI it does have isn't "repeater", so you can't get audio over the HDMI connection. It's for video only. See if you can find Onkyo, Denon, or Yamaha where you live............
Good luck!

Thank you for clearing those points , the sony people told me that their set decodes DTS-HD.
I will test it anyway at the Sony World Store

got a review for the ht-ddw7000 which is the same as the ht-ddw5500 but whit an extra rear speaker

http://www.cnet.com.au/sony-muteki-h...-339297864.htm
seems that you're right , no DTS-HD support , but I guess changing an amp in the future will force the dts-HD out of those huge bass
