Brilliant!

At this rate they’ll have their entire back catalogue announced by the end of next week!

I'd settle for Smiley's People for the time being.

Never thought I'd say this, but I'm a little sad the Ghost Story for Christmas films are currently with BFI. I know BBC hold original materials and given their current attitude towards archive genre material they might well have been more inclined to put them out on Blu themselves.

I’m quite glad about this sudden embracing of the format for their catalogue.

Presumably the Who and Red Dwarf sales have changed some attitudes.

I was looking at my DVD copy the other day and thinking how great this would look on blu-ray...

I hope they do a good restoration job. The cinematography was great for an 80's BBC drama...

And then there's the awesome theme music...

Clapton and Kamen were clearly planting seeds for Lethal Weapon, there.

Yes, I was going to mention that, but I feared tempting fate...

May also be for Britbox the ITV & BBC streaming service to the UK.
If they want people to pay and it must be at least £5pm they need more f their old shows in HD especially the filmed ones rather than in tired SD masters.

In some respects make more sense doing these filmed shows in HD rather than upscales but DW and RD will sell much bigger volumes.

Pre-ordered from amazon. 16mm is one of my favourite things in the world so I hope to hell they haven't tried to tamp down the grain

I was only a nipper when this came out and I don't recall having seen it so I ordered the old DVD to see if I'll like it. If I do dig it and the BD isn't some noise-reduced piece of shit then I'll grab the BD too. But you can be the canary Phil.

I've never seen it either, but I liked the Mel Gibson movie (*shrieks and shields face to avoid flying bricks*) and any soundtrack by Eric Clapton and Michael Kamen is incredibly appealing to me. Plus I'm really in the mood for something like this at the moment.

Also pre-ordered the Apollo 11 UHD from Dogwoof despite this being their first foray into 4K. A little worried their encoding might not be up to snuff but i'm hoping it's more or less going to be a direct port of the Universal disc with a Dogwoof logo added to the beginning. They've even used the Universal style rear artwork, so that's a good sign

I'm a gambling man, Geoffy!
