The Lobster all the way for me. It's been one of my most anticipated films since I heard about it. It's not playing anywhere near me yet, so I won't be able to get to it this weekend though.

I'm also really looking forward to High Rise and Last Days in the Desert as well, and High Rise is actually playing here. So I'll definitely get to that this weekend.

Will eventually see The Darkness, What We Become, A Bigger Splash, Dheepan, and Sunset Song too. I still have a few trailers I need to watch.

Already seen High Rise, The Lobster and Dheepan, so all that is left is Money Monster and A Bigger Splash.

I've been hearing quite negative & underwhelming things coming back from High Rise. I know I could go to your Letterboxd, but what did you think of it? How does it compare to Kill List & A Field in England?

Came out of it with positive but mixed feelings (stellar first half kinda runs out of steam in the second) but the further I get away from it, the more I love it, especially the look of it. Kill List is still Wheatley's strongest but it's a bit more engaging than A Field in England.

My dad (hardcore Republican, religiously watches Fox News, big Christian, etc) is NOT a movie guy. I can't remember the last time he watched an entire movie without falling asleep. He doesn't use the internet. He basically works, watches Fox News, watches Golf Channel, and eats. That's his life.

Somehow, HE knows about this film. He texted me and said "Great movie coming out this weekend, you need to go see it." It was Amerigeddon. I could barely make it through the trailer.

Should be noted, the trailer for that film is uploaded to The Alex Jones Channel, who is one of the countries largest conspiracy theorists.

If the youtube comments on the trailer don't shake your faith in the goodness of the American public, nothing will.

AmeriGEDDON looks like an excellent film; I wouldn't mind a Northern version called CanaGEDDON but AmeriGEDDON will suffice. Doubt it will actually play up here, but I do look forward to that. Yes, I'm with Jacob's dad on this one (he sounds like a cool guy, tbh).

Anyways, only one film of those can be my most anticipated, and that is High-Rise. I have wanted a film of that for a decade now, and here it comes, with one of the greatest up and coming directors, and one of the greatest up and coming actors??? I am beyond excited.

Saw High Rise last night, and I'm so upset by it. What was one of my most anticipated films of the year, ended up being my least favorite so far. This movie actually angered me.

Well, I could've told you that.

No, I'm just kidding. I read a interview the director did with indieWIRE, I think, and he came off as a "major tool." Which is a shame, because I really believe A Field in England to be quite an achievement. Oh, well! I really like Tom Hiddleston though, and I heard he has a nude scene, so I will probably rent it once it is available for streaming.

I'm pretty sure it's already available VOD. iTunes and Amazon has it to rent.

I'm tempted to rent it, watch it again, and record my own audio commentary during it.
