Talking LCD TV brands that produce strong products...

Hey,

I am not looking for a VS here I just want to know some brands pro's and con's. I currently will be getting an LG because it seems like the best bang for your buck based on the picture and specs. I just want to know what others think.

Aloha,
Tara

What size TV are you planning on getting, because that makes a big difference.

For LCD most of the people here agree that Sony and Samsung are the better choices. Very good quality and reliability.

I am a happy Samsung owner here. No complaints, they are a very good manufacturer of LCD's and I would highly recommend anyone looking for an LCD to go with Samsung.

I agree. I have gone from a Sony to Samsung and I am very happy! 55LNa950 totally smokes my xbr 4 which has been jettisoned!

Happy Vizio owner here.

If you want to pay more to get more the options are out there, but Vizio's bang:buck ratio is off the charts.

In my store Samsung is easily our most sold LCD manufacturer. Sony would come in second and does have a little better repair history than Samsung but is typically more expensive. I'd go Samsung most likely if i were in the market but if you can find a good deal on a Sony, go that route.

It's a solid. yet inexpensive brand that is definitely good on pockets. I've had mines for almost 2 yrs now and can't complain.

Yeah; I've had mine for almost two years, and no problems here either. I think they are just as good as the more expensive brands, but since the company is fairly new; it get crapped on a lot.

it's not nearly as good, not even close. i own a 46" sony xbr9, 32" sony xbr6, vizio 42" 1080p, and samsung 40" LN40A650

but it's good, definitely, and with its cost, a very smart purchase for many people...

but trust me, it doesn't come close to matching samsung and sony (the top 2 imo) in any way, or even brands like LG, phillips, sharp. no offense, i'm a vizio owner too, just speaking my opinion.

Yeah. I have two TVs: a Samsung LN40A540 and a Westinghouse 37" 1080p set. The Samsung completely obliterates the Westinghouse in terms of quality, although the Westinghouse is still nice.

If you only own the bargain brand, it will seem great (and for most intents and purposes, it is great), but once you actually get a quality brand, you will immediately notice the difference.

Vizio maybe a bargain, but its not your typical "bargain brand". Its also tons better in quality than Westinghouse.
