Anyone have any insight as to what this might be?

Pixar Luxo Jr Lamp Collection

For that price, I assume it is a replica of Luxo Lamp (Pixar's mascot), possible with all Pixar's current blu-ray movies.

Or maybe it is some kind of scam. I mean why don't they put a picture of it which would be the most obvious thing to do ?

I highly doubt HMV or Disney is trying to scam anyone. Many times studios announce something without giving any pictures or details. This Collection doesn't come out until November, so there is plenty of time to find out what it is.

Amazon does the same with pre orders. Doesn't mean they are scamming anyone it just means they have yet to get the cover art from the studio. Same with HMV most likely Disney is still finalizing things before they release a final description and some cover art.

Then again it might not. Big price difference from $40 to £94 though.

It clearly states on the amazon listing that the product is one disc. Therefore you would have to add any extra movies to the lamp yourself (if it holds movies).

That's what I was thinking too. I guess we will soon see. The specs will have to come out sooner or later. I have it pre ordered already from Amazon UK.

HMV has a picture of it up now but I still cannot figure out what it is as there is still no description.

So it's all the Pixar Blu-rays released to date (i can make out Monsters inc, Wall-e, Cars, Ratatouile and Pixar Shorts on the HMV picture) & a lamp??

I'm not gonna dump my current copies for the Luxo Jnr!!

I was hoping to see the Nemo case spine in that pic to give some credence to the 08 Sep 09 release date that still being displayed on some sites.
