Default Fringe Season 2 Audio Problem

Anyone else seem to notice the audio on Fringe's Season 2 is lower. I mean I have to raise the volume higher. It's not that there's anything wrong w/ the sound, it's just totally lower than the first season's discs.

I have the volume set at the same number when playing a disc from S1, but then when I change to a disc from S2, I have to raise the volume.

The official review did not mention any issues; in fact, it mentions the DD 5.1 sound is exceptionally good, so I'm wondering if I've received faulty discs or were they just made that way.

It could have a different bit rate, just turn the volume up and enjoy.

I can't wait for season 3.

No issue either with the audio. The PQ is top notch. he Audio could have been better but its still a solid 3.5

How do I see if it's a different bitrate?

If you could check and post back iam1bearcat on whether you notice a much lower volume output for Season 2, I'd appreciate it.

I received season 2 thru a trade; I didn't buy at a store, so I'm wondering if these discs are from the studio. From everything I can tell though, it looks authentic. But is there a way to confirm?

On your PS3 push the display button and in the upper right corner you will see what kind of sound and video in running with the bit rates. DD sound can be 192-642 kbps. I'll check my copy's also and see if there is a difference in the sound.

just checked mine and both are at the same 642 bit rates. Both seasons pretty much sounded the same to me.

no, you are not losing your mind, i agree with you it is a lower volume and i too have to raise my volume with this season. the music is fine but the spoken words are what appears to be at a lower level. i still love the S2, but i have to agree with you on the audio thing. it's not that bad but i do have to raise the volume a bit in relation to S1.

if it's only the spoken words thats lower then you can turn up the center channel to balance it out better.

you are correct, however that then makes the musical score that much louder! I just don't think they mixed it very well; still love it though, make no mistake about that!
