Germany Disturbia

I have the US release of Disturbia, which doesn't have any Blu-Ray audio codecs. I see that the German version has a DolbyTrue HD track. How is that track? For those who have heard both the US and this track, is the DolbyTrue HD more aggressive? How's the AQ compared to the US release?

Sorry for all the threads on wondering about the PQ and AQ of discs from other countries, but I'm being asked what I want for christmas from loved ones and imports are probably what I'll be asking for.

I think I have the UK version with the TrueHD track. The US DTS ES track is 1.5Mbps and the AUS TrueHD track (I assume this is the same for all version with TrueHD) is 3.2Mbps. So, its atleast a healthy bitrate. I can't say I noticed ANY difference between this TrueHD track and my HD DVD disc with the same DTS ES track. (The HD DVD also has a DD+ 1.5Mbps track. I tried to switch them, and listen as best I could and I could not tell a difference between DTS ES and DD+ either.)

The video is the same, by the way.

My opinion, if you dont own it yet, might as well get the lossless track. If its a gift, ask for a lossless version. If you already own a version with DTS ES, I dont see it worth a repurchase.

Looks like I'll most likely be getting the UK import for Christmas.

What equipment were you using to test the different audio codecs?

Just wondering, because I know some people who say that about tracks and just have computer-like speakers haha.

Thanks for responding in the thread though.

Sorry for not responding. I have a Denon 1909 AVR, Elemental Designs towers and matching center. 4 Elemental Designs bookshelves. 7.1 setup. I have a couple different players and also a PC setup connected to it all, too.

I got the UK version. The PQ looks the same as far as I can tell from the US release. The audio is better than the US and it stands out. The bass is much tighter, more accurate, and cleaner. I noticed surrounds used a little bit more often and the music sounding a bit better.

Overall, I'm very happy I received the UK edition.

Thanks. Are the extras on the UK the same as the US?

Thanks
