Kinky Boots: The Musical Blu-ray

The live recording of the West End Production of Kinky Boots will be released on Blu-Ray on May 25th, 2021. Distributed by Liberator Film Services who also holds the license for the recording of An American in Paris (2018) so I'm feeling optimistic for more!

What a nice surprise!

Exciting! Love the musical and saw the filmed version in the cinema last year so looking forward to actually owning it

I already own a screener disc of Everybody’s Talking About Jamie, but it would be great to see a wide release of the musical this year to align with the movie release

I’ll definitely order this cause I’d love to see more filmed stage productions released on blu. Plus of course, it’s a great show.

Liberator just announced they will also be releasing the 2017 west end prodution of 42nd street on blu-ray and a bunch of other shows as well! aslo listed were The Wind and the Willows and From here to Eternity but i'm not sure if those will get DVD, blu-ray or both.

I still kick myself in the rear for not grabbing the Japanese Blu release of the movie some time ago when I saw it either on eBay or Amazon for a reasonable price. Now it's almost impossible to find and, when you do, it's outrageously expensive! Love the movie and REALLY love the musical and can't wait to get the musical on Blu!!!

I wasn't even aware that there was any blu-ray release at all... Thanks! Hopefully we won't be out-bidding each other on the same copy on ebay

Meh. I wouldn't bother with the older Japanese release when the digital version works just fine, especially when fully downloaded to watch.

I'm watching the musical on Blu-Ray after watching the movie on DVD. Well, maybe Kino Lorber or Shout! could eventually release the movie on Blu-Ray, because I enjoyed that, although the picture didn't look too bad on my TV.

Enjoying the musical, but the subtitles on the Blu-Ray often have their timing off, especially in song sequences. I was looking forward to this as my cousin was in the Broadway production's ensemble and while I can't easily get out to New York and see a show, I could at least see the show she was in, even if it wasn't the same production.

Edit: Actually, it seems Paramount has the Miramax catalog now, and they've been releasing a lot of their catalog recently. Maybe they'll release the original movie to Blu-Ray. Japan Paramount is actually reissuing the movie on Blu-Ray later this month.

The back of the case is labeled ABC for region coding, so it shouldn't be. BTW, on your wishlist, Black Cauldron is available on Blu-Ray via Disney Movie Club.

It's available in 4k elsewhere. Dunno why Vudu hasn't upgraded it yet.
