Red face Thinking of getting her a................

Kindle Wi-Fi, 3G for LeAnn for Christmas. She reads a ton. She buys books new or used. I think this would be a perfect gift for her. She has books all over the place which makes me upset. What do you guys think those who have one?

Any tips, pros, or cons? Cases? White or Black?

I don't need to surprise her so don't ask, she already knows.

I would rather advise you to buy the furniture (the thing you keep your books in, dont know the english name) rather than that electronic item.

Old style gifts are always more classy.

She has 3 or 4 bookcases that are full. It makes the house cluttered.

She doesn't have U-Haul boxes full of paperbacks does she?

I should really have a garage sale one day.

I got the basic leather case from Amazon which actually holds the Kindle in place inside so it doesn't fall out.

Yeah most are paperbacks, and she buys them from the flea market.

Ours arrived yesterday and I gave it to my wife already. I got my present already so I felt kinda obligated to do the same. Was going to save the cover to open on Christmas, but there's too big of a chance that the Kindle can get damaged before then.

It's a Christmas present, not a December 2 present. You both should have to suffer for another 3 weeks. On a side note, I absolutely hate giving gifts for Christmas. None of my family ever gives me any ideas and I don't need anything because when I want something I buy it. Each year I propose a presentless Christmas, but each year I get shot down.

I think you guys are right. I should hold off until the 25th when we have our Christmas party.

I remember when LeAnn got me my Energy C-200 speakers last Christmas. I opened that package so fast in front of everyone that I felt like I was a child again!

I'm with you, there is nothing I hate more than picking out gifts....especially for my wife....she never tells me anything she wants, so what do I get her? Her birthday is the end of november, our annivesary is 12/3 (tomorrow) and then christmas......so that is three gifts I have to try and buy right after each other.....geez.....this year for her birthday I told her to go shopping so she spent $85 on ONE PAIR OF JEANS!!! I took her to Hawaii last month for the annivesary, so thats taken care of......I still need something for christmas......she doesn't read, so kindles are out, but she does have an Ipad.......jewerly is ok, but damn, I've been buying her jewelrey for 14 years, I'm tired of jewelry, and she doesn't wear much anymore....=(.......I only have to pick out one gift and its for her, and it takes all damn year!

I agree; however, are you going to make him walk around barefoot?

Got an inlaw who has a room for just her books, all 2,000 of them. They are double stacked, the front row has another behind it. The custom shelves are floor to ceiling.

Any e-book reader would be great: the Amazon kindle DX (Simple PDF) or Kindle 3, SONY PRS-350 Pocket or PRS-650 Touch, Barnes & Noble Nook 3G+Wi-Fi, and my pick the iPad 3G+Wi-Fi. I notice that my walk-in closet is filling up also.

Kindle vs Ipad.... hmmmm... I wouldn't recommend the IPAD just because it's the first generation. Wait until they make it better with the second generation in 6 months For the time being, get the Kindle when it is on sale.
