United Kingdom Second Hand Blues

I was thinking of buying some blu-rays from ebay or CEX and was wondering whether anyone has done so in the past and how people feel about having second hand blu-rays in their collection. Looking around on ebay with prices around 99p-£2 for titles that are over £10 each elsewhere new wouldnt it be more simpler to just buy second hand stuff. I hope Im not angering any collecters here who love their collection brand new.
