Post Monster AVL300 remote

Hello all,

I bought a Monster AVL300 yesterday and should be receiving it in the next few days. I was wondering if there any other users out there that have this remote and if there are any "tips or tricks" that they can provide to me. I will be using it to control a Onkyo TX-SR606, Sony LCD tv, Dish Network HD DVR box, and a ps3.

On a side note I (well at least I think so) got a pretty good deal on it ($68 brand new) and am attaching a link if anyone else is interested.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000CQP5YS

Also a link to Monsters website for more info if anyone is looking for it.

Had this remote: and this remote uses the same software as the logitech(actually I think Logi. makes this remote for monster). Very simple to setup; The secret is to write everything down from your model#'s of your equipment and how you have it hooked up and that's it. Just follow the macro in the software and your all good. also it works with lutron and monster ep series power centers that come with the IR/RF stuff. Like I said very easy to setup. The only reason I gave mine to my Brother in-law because I ended up buying the logitech 1100(because of the large touch screen) other than that I would have kept it. It worked wonderful..Trust me you'll have fun setting it up..I paid $300.00 back then and you got it for a steel...

Thanks for the info. I did see that it was a joint effort between Monster and Logitech. Its suppose to built built on the same standards as the 890 Pro. I'm pretty excited that it has z-wave compatibility as well and will be taking advantage of that in the future. Thanks again for your response.

I'm not sure if anyone is following this thread but I thought I might as well update it.

So I received my remote today and set up was not as bad as what the reviews online lead me to believe. The hardest part of it was configuring my Dish PVr but thats because the receiver was only accepting UHF signal and not the IR. After this was sorted out the remote is an absolute beast. Has descent heft to if but I like that because it feels solid and not just heavy.

I was also able to pick up two z-wave switches from Radio Shack (currently on clearance for $19.99 as opposed to Amazons price of $75+ each) and integrate them in pretty easily after all the profiles were set.

So for a total of $110 I have a universal remote that even turns the lights on and off for me.

I have this remote and I wish I had never bought it.

Also it's not gonna work on your PS3.

How come you don't like it?

I haven't had a chance to get the logitech adapter yet but was gonna get it tomorrow. Might have to rethink that.
