Default Favorite DEADWOOD character?

I've finally watched the Deadwood Blu-ray set that has been sitting on my shelf for awhile, and I was very impressed with the show.

Al Swearengen was definitely my favorite character on this show...who is yours?

Al Swearengen too.

I really Liked Seth Bullock and wild Bill Hickock. Jane was cool too. There actually aren't that many I don't like but I didn't like the Use of the Earp's.

As Mr. Wu said it: "Swegen."

I liked the original preacher too.

Greatest show ever created. In fact, greatest thing ever put on film. Made the invention of the camera worthwhile. Everything else I watch pales in comparison. A perfect show. Brilliant writing.

Ian McShane is a master. Al is the best, but all the characters were excellent. And all the other actors too.

Default Finally, Saw DEADWOOD for the first time

BEST Performances: Doc Cochrine VS E.B. Farnum VS Hearst (in that order)
BEST "female" Performances: Calamity Jane VS Jewel VS Trixie (in that order)

DEADWOOD is a very good show! but "overrated."

It is just 'not' in the league of BREAKING BAD, MAD MEN, LOST etc etc.

To say it was cut short with only 3 seasons in "untrue". It becomes stale and sorta boring if you 'binge watch' like I did. particularly 3rd seasons. They pretty much exhausted every storyline in Old West. even threw in Earps. this show was literally on its last legs in its creativity.

Not even close to 'greatness." a very good show with tons of holes.

Also, the lead PROTAGONIST performance of Al Swearengen is the WORST ever. It was overacted, very loud and hammy. This alone ruined the show. It was just not natural enough imo.

If real life Al Swearengen ever was like Ian McShane, he would'nt last in one piece for more than 24 hrs in place like Deadwood, South Dakota.

well acted but questionably characterized.
