The movies where the bad guys get away, justice is not served and everybody dies! Scarface (1983) probably best captures the moody depressing atmosphere that almost no one in the film will make it out alive. The ending has no victors or champions to congratulate one another, just stark and black credits rolling to the brilliance of a Girgio Moroder track. The Empire Strikes Back what more needs to be said about the Empires blow to the rebellion in this one. Evil triumphs momentarily. The Mist while I hate this ending I do recognize it as one of cinemas great movie ending downers.
