Default PS3 loading glitch?

Hi guys I've noticed on a few of my games GT5, Lost Via Domus, Avatar The Game, Uncharted 2 and even some demos when the loading or saving icon appears it's completely distorted like just a mass of rainbow colours or just a block of fuzzy pixels. I'd say it happens 70% of the time.

I've only had the slim PS3 since Christmas it's crashed a few times while using BBC's iPlayer etc but no real problems.

Is this just a glitch? All the other on-screen graphics are perfect just these icons.

I've never seen it before. I was just playing Uncharted 2 and I only get the spinning dagger.
It's not a glitch with what you have happening.

Does it happen with all games when loading?

What type of connection are you using Hdmi, Component,RCA etc. etc.
Do you have it going through a AV Receiver?

This is odd.

If you only had PS3 since christmas and its doing that take it back now and exchange it no bs man its probably an issue with the blu ray drive.

Agree ^^ 100% Return it.

I checked the internet for this issue and so far I'm not locating anything.

Thanks for the replies guys, I've got it plugged into a Samsung 720P Plasma with a HDMI lead. It does seem weird though I thought it was a common thing on GT5 it happens so much. Plus it does the same on the other games and I think Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10. I'll double check Uncharted 2 later but I'm pretty sure it does the same.

I haven't played any Blu-ray movies with it as I have a Samsung BD player but I guess I'll try a few of those too.

If my PS3 gets replaced do I need to do anything with Trophy's, saved games etc? I've only got 7 games and I've been going through them one at a time apart from GT5 and TW PGA 10 so it's not a huge deal.

trophies: sync them first or risk losing all of them!
saves: back them up to a external hd or thumbdrive (not all saves could be backed up)
everything else: dlc, videos, etc could be redownloaded for free on your PSN account

I imagine you will return one PS3(One owned presently) for a new replacement. So the one console to one console data transfer option won't obviously work for you. Use a usb thumbstick. I traded in my 40gb for a slim and had to use the stick option. It's extremely easy to do. It's basically install stick, find folder you want saved, press triangle pulls up the folder options and you choose copy. Remember to check all your folders to make sure you don't miss anything you may want to keep.
Once you get your new console plug the stick in and transfer them.
