Default TheMoth's Home Screening Room

Well, Finally got around to posting my HT pictures for all to see. We just moved into this house about 4 months now. I will begin the Basement HT soon. For now I have this one up to my standards and wanted to see if anyone had any ideas on how to improve the current set up. Thanks To this site my passion for HT has continued to grow and take new life. Thanks all in advance for taking the time to look at my thread.

Great set up buddy seems like you never have to leave the room and the Ipad is a nice touch.

Haven't ran the sub thru the system yet. I have only been running the subs in the 7004's. How would I run all the subs? Split the 1 LFE 3 ways? Thanks

Just buy Female-to-male splitters.... Monoprice.com has them.... you can split the signal pretty much as many times as you want, since you're not drawing power, because the subs have their own AMPs.

Nice gear... I need to look at your pictures still.... just clicked 'reply'

The diamond series is nice.... are you leaning towards them from auditioning them, or just "because" ?

I do think the jump to the diamonds is well worth it..... You're fortunate enough to have plenty of gear, so building it up and piecing in what you already have will help you get there slowly.....

EDIT:

O.K.

I looked at the pictures..... WAIT A SECOND....... motorized sofa swivel???

Anyways.... I'd remove the stickers from the AVR... that would drive me nuts

I see you're from Chicago... congrats on buying a new house! That can't be easy....

I see there is some sort of "family" pictures.... so congrats on that too..... it's tough getting yourself nice stuff when there are little gremlins that come out during the wee-hours of the morning and try to break it all!

And I must really be getting old.... because I would have never known there was an iPad there if someone didn't point it out

Is this place the "new house" or old place? I'd like to see pictures of the basement!

Thanks, think I will remove the stickers from the receiver today. Not sure why it's still there. Just hooked up the sub and have it behind the tv stand. Sounds much fuller now and goes deeper. Nice compliment to 7004 subs, 3 subs much better than the solo sub or just the 7004's, much happier, the sound is not as thin as before. Looking for a new stand with cabinets and a center channel grill covered shelf. Thoughts? Thanks

This is the new home about a few months. Have 2 little girls that love the iPad and great tv. The girls are respectful of dads stuff for the most part. The basement is getting dry walled and power ran this month. I'll post pictures once we get the walls up, then the fun part begins, buying new equipment!

Take a look at my stand, the top middle comes with an optional cover for a center channel to replace the glass. Great quality furniture.

That stand looks great however my tv needs to sit on top and with my center channel being the clr 2002 it needs some space. That a stand wouldmnot work due to the size of then tv and components. Look At my ht pics? Thanks any advice welcome

Nice room, very classy and comfy at the same time. I like your gear too, Def Tech make some very nice sounding speakers. Good job!

Default Basement HT beginning to start the build out.

Decided *that I need more screen and better lighting. *So the main basement home theather project begins. *Dry wall guy and electrician are coming by to quote the walls and wiring cost. *Time to begin thinking if I move the speaker set up to the basement or start over? *Not sure I will need the complete 5.1 set up seeing the new ht will be where I hang out all the time. *

Well made a change to my year old set up and could not be happier. I have replaced my 60 inch sharp for a Panasonic 58 S2. Its my first plasma and the color difference and blacks and night and day and lend to the picture being alot more natural. I got this new set for a steal so I had to pull the trigger. Looks like the 3d will have to wait till the HT basement project is complete. So far a happy new Plasma owner.
