Thoughts? I haven't seen The Big C and Temple Grandin, so I can't comment on those two. I don't think The Walking Dead and Glee belong on the list. Glee's second season is so bad (I maintain the first 13 is good television). The Walking Dead is just decent television. I think when it comes to dramas, Sons of Anarchy, Terriers and Treme belong on the list more than Glee and The Walking Dead.

I agree with absolutely every word of your statement, as I was just about to post the exact same response. Boardwalk, Bad, Pacific and Modern are the only shows off that list I agree with. I am a Mad Men fan but felt like very little even really happened this past season, it was my least favorite of the series.

Kinda a bad list IMO. I haven't seen Big C, Modern Family, Pacific or Boardwalk Empire but I know from reviews and people on this board they are worthy of being on the list. The rest I can't comment on as I haven't seen anything on them and while I watch Glee I don't think it's top 10 material.

Ditto on Mad Men. I feel like I'm alone on thinking this past season is the weakest thus far.

EDIT: By the way, now that Boardwalk is over, I'm finally going to open up my Shield set and start watching it.

No, I was very let down with this past season of Mad Men. So you're not alone.

The Shield is my all-time favorite show, and if you've never seen it before than you are in for a hell ride. I've seen it through many times and love it more with each viewing. No other cop show will ever come close for me, it was the first I'd ever seen touch on corruption and never thought I'd see it hit the levels it did. Amazing series.

I think I'm also going to have to make The Shield my next show as I keep hearing you talk so highly about it and I'm about done with Breaking Bad and Dexter.

Wow, really? That's great to hear. I've never seen it. I've had the box set for almost a year (got it last Christmas). I'm sure I'll fly right through it.

I was with the Shield from the very first episode when it originally aired and in the 8 years since it premiered and the 2 years since it ended, I don't love it any less. Nothing ranks as highly for me. It's my most anticipated Blu-Ray release that I hope comes next year, but haven't even heard rumors about yet. I LOVE the series and and it had a fantastic finale! Probably my favorite finale for a series ever, so feel free to dive in and not worry about a proper ending.

Cool can't wait. Will be weird seeing Chiklis play a dark serous cop as I have only seen him in comedies like NOF or Fantastic Four.

See whereas I can't watch NOF because I only know him as the very dark and intimidating Vic Mackey. That character was amazing, so seeing him as a wuss who jumps up and down on houses and takes shit from everybody, doesn't fly with me. NOBODY gave Mackey shit, ever. He was called "Al Capone with a Badge" by his Lt.

Kind of surprised you didn't enjoy this past season of Mad Men. There was a lot going on this season, lots of good storylines, well to me at least.

Anyway glad to see The Walking Dead, Boardwalk, Breaking Bad and Mad Men make the list. Surprised The Walking Dead made it because it doesn't seem like a show critics would fall in love with.

I just didn't feel like all that much happened, and really didn't care for what Don did in the finale, or how anti climactic it ended.

I was surprised to, I haven't really heard the critics rave about it. I've mostly read the exact same comments I've made since the beginning commenting on it's weak characters and sloppy writing.

Yeah I had a feeling it would be opposite for you as he has done a total 360 in the roles he play's now.

I wanted to like NOF but like I said, Chiklis is a hardcore ass kicker, and I just don't buy his weak ass role in a family comedy.

Yeah same things probably going to happen to me as I stopped watching NOF and will just wait for the Blu/DVD depending on if it get's renewed. So I'll see a lot more of Chiklis playing Vic then I will of him on NOF in no time.

Not trying to derail this thread or anything, but The Shield had a really good pilot. Ending kind of took me for surprise.

Ah yes, Officer Terry Crowley.

Mackey is just getting started, you've got 7 more seasons.

Unfortunately, I don't think the Shield is going to come out on Blu-Ray anytime soon. I would LOVE to have it though as it is an awesome show. Here's what Shawn Ryan said in an interview:

"Ryan: It’s not and right now there are no plans to. We filmed in a very basic Super-16 film, and I don’t understand all the technologies and all the techno-speak but my understanding is that right now it’s not an ideal candidate to be put on Blu-ray because of the quality of the film. I think they don’t feel there’d be enough distinction between the shitty grainy look that was intentional of the show that you achieve just through basic DVD. At least that’s how it’s been explained to me, so for the moment anyways it’s not available on Blu-ray."

He also said on Twitter:

"# @ShawnRyanTV: I asked Sony when The Shield would be on Blu-Ray. I was told that our film wasn't high enough quality to put on Blu-Ray. Seems appropriate.
# @ShawnRyanTV: To clarify, Sony said the 16 mm FILM STOCK was of insufficient quality to put out on Blu-Ray, not the quality of the show. Thnx for concern.
# @ShawnRyanTV: So this looks like last and best Shield DVD release..."

UGH........
