Fred Ward has rarely been given the lead roles he deserves and always remains a solid, scene stealing character actor but when he does have a lead he shines. Ward is great as Hoke Moseley whose police badge and false teeth are stolen by sociopath Fred Frenger (one of Alec Baldwin's best performances). Jennifer Jason Leigh is also excellent as Frenger's naive girlfriend. Should have launched a succesful series for Ward as Moseley in adaptations of Charles Willeford's other books.
I'd be more than happy to see blus of Fred Ward's Remo: Unarmed And Dangerous and HP Lovecraft/Philip Marlowe crossover TV movie Cast A Deadly Spell |
