Question Rear Panel Lighting

I've been looking at IKEA's Dioder (link below) light strips to put behind my Kuro as a back-light. Is anyone using these lights for this purpose and/ or what are recommended lights for this?

http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/20119418

Thanks!

I bought the ikea dioder lights the other week and love them, a lot of members here use them. The only problem I have had with them was they kept falling off of the back of the tv, the foam tape they come with isn't strong enough to hold them in place especially if your tv generates a lot of heat from the back. I just bought some stick on velcro tape, which seems to hold them on really well, they haven't fallen off since.

Kuro's shouldn't need backlighting. And in that regard, I wouldn't use IKEA lights, if only because their white isn't only 100% accurate and not at the right color temperature.

I love the IKEA lights, but for display/decor/entertainment purposes only, not as actual backlighting.

Try Cyron, or one of the other specialized brands for backlighting - there's a thread around here somewhere...

That's what I use mine for, display/decor/entertainment purposes only, not for actual backlighting. I was wanting the cyron lights for actual backlighting, but u can't buy them here in Australia (well I couldn't find anywhere that sells them here), I could have ordered them from amazon but they wouldn't have had the correct voltage requirements for Australian standards.
