timae mentioned this in the "Dragon Inn" thread, but it deserves one of its own.
The Masters of Cinema blu-ray is now up for order on Amazon.uk http://www.amazon.co.uk/Masters-Cine...a+touch+of+zen Release date: January 25th. 4K restoration. LIMITED EDITION (THREE DISC SET) - 2000 copies. I'm assuming this will be region B, like "Dragon Inn". |

Mine is still showing that it will dispatch on the 25th of Jan and I should expect it between Jan 30th - Feb 5th. So, maybe there were enough people pre-ordering that they sold out for now? Unless there has been a delay or recall or something then I would expect if you did pre-order it, it should ship out on time. Normally, Amazon shoots me an email if there is a problem and I have not received an email from them saying there is. |

Mine is saying "Not yet dispatched". Mine is saying expected delivery date is between Feb 5 - 9th now instead of what it said yesterday. Maybe that will get adjusted. I hope it doesn't get delayed too much.
![]() I will check back on it tomorrow and see what happens. UPDATE: Preparing for dispatch Last edited by reason108; 01-25-2016 at 10:20 AM. |

I watched it last night... absolutely amazing picture quality! If you've only seen one of the older DVDs, you haven't really seen the film. The restoration is just as good as "Dragon Inn," and both of them are must-have blu-rays to have in your collection.
I found it interesting that "Touch of Zen" came with a slipcase, but "Dragon Inn" did not (I pre-ordered both of them, so it wasn't a question of missing the boat). Did everyone else find this to be the case? Seems strange they would put out one that way but not the other. |

I posted this in the UK ATOZ thread but thought it was worth repeating here:
The version of ATOZ on the Eureka! blu-ray is the "edited together" version of the film instead of it being shown as Part 1 & Part 2 seperately. The edited version loses a (roughly) 1 second shot of [Show spoiler] .Also, any minor print damage that is in the movie is on both the old Tai Seng dvd release and on the Eureka! blu-ray print in the same location. It is easy to see where/how Eureka! has improved the print but there are some minor black circles/print "holes" that appear from time-to-time. |

On the other hand, would you really be able to offload that DVD even if you wanted to? ![]() |

It really amounts to almost nothing and probably would not be worth a bother to include it. But, if they wanted to do it for being complete, then perhaps just add the missing shot and altered credits as an extra. There are a few local stores in my area where I could have sold the DVD for $1 or $2. Not much, I know, but it would have been one less DVD to have to store or keep track of. ![]() |
