United Kingdom Plan ahead with 3D Super Play?

I was looking at the pre order options for Tron: Legacy, and noticed three options available. Double Play, with the Blu-ray and DVD, 3D Super Play which includes the Blu-ray, 3D Blu-ray and Digital Copy, or the Tron / Tron Legacy double pack, which I believe is one disc for each film. And it got me to thinking, in a similar vein that people who are new to Blu-ray, or maybe willing to convert in the foreseeable future use the Double / Triple play packs, would you use the 3D super play in case you ever convert. I don't know if I would buy one, as I doubt I'll invest in 3D until it doesn't require glasses, but I would find the digital copy handier than the DVD. What do you think?

I posted in the Tron thread that it's a shame you can only have he DVD or DC depending on 2D or 3D. I doubt I'll go 3D anytime soon but it would be nice if they offered an upgrade program, as the extra few pounds for the 3D set is really a waste at the moment but I do buy BD's with DC and I don't have a portable device yet.

I've got the 3-D BD for "A Christmas Carol" 2009 and will get it for "Tron Legacy," just in case 3-D does become the wave of the future. I'm not holding my breath about it though; as long as these movies come with every other format I'm set.

I'm currently not interested at all in doubling up on movies I already own for 3-D compatability.

I would have done if they were going to release a 3D Tron Legacy/2D Tron box set like the US. I too got Christmas Carol 3D superset because it was dead cheap at the time on Tesco preorder.

I mostly get the 3D super plays, I'm hoping the US of Tron is region free as I'm interested in the Limited Edition.

If I had not converted to 3D I suppose I would not bother with Super Play it's still a good idea as it saves you double dipping in the future.

I know the Super Plays have a 2D BD with them but if you play a 3D dsic on non-3D equipment is it exactly the same as the 2D disc picturewise?

When you play 3d blu-rays and set them to play in 2d you can get issues with varying size black bars on the sides which is due to the picture being only 1 side of the "eye". It's the reason Disney provide a normal 2d blu ray aswell.

Thanks, I thought there would be issues but I'm sure I've read reviews on Amazon when people say they work fine and don't have any problems with them. But they are Amazon reviews lol.

I'm only going by what I read/heard but I think it is less/more noticeable depending on the individual and tv used.

the 3D version of Paranha while played in 2D did not have any black bars so its only some titles.
