A friend of mine does a lot of shows that appeal to the younger (16-25) set, and he really hates doing New York. Whenever he announces a show, immediately he gets messages like "why didn't you book it in (insert borough here). cause I live there and I won't go if it's not in X"
Can someone explain to me why these kids, who have grown up in the city with the biggest and best public transportation system in the country act this way? Their peers will drive 5 states to go to some of these shows, and all these kids have to do is hop a subway. I understand the issue of getting out of the city, cause most of them don't have cars and such, and many New Yorkers are used to things coming to them (whereas here in Philly, they tell us to go to NYC or DC ![]() |
