Why isn't Next (a Revolution Studios movie) being released in Blu?

Hello Paidgeek,

I was just looking at a movie called Next on IMDB. It says that it was made by Revolution Studios. At first glance I would guess that Revolution Studios is a Sony partner because many of their titles are on Blu-ray such as Click, Perfect Stranger, Rocky Balboa, etc.

But then I checked Netflix and Next (Nicolas Cage) is coming out on HD DUD and DVD. Why is this not a Blu-ray title (assuming that Netflix is correct).

I know this is not addressed to me (and I apologize in advance for answering the question), but Next is being distributed by Paramount. That's the reason it's not coming on Blu-ray.

NEXT is distributed by Paramount Pictures in the US.
