This movie looks great even on regular DVD. It's smart, funny, and it just happens to look amazing in HD as a nice bonus.

Well worth it!

I watched it and enjoyed it... I thought it looked really good and was pretty funny. Matter of fact, maybe I'll watch it again this week.

I've always been a fan of Robert Downey, Jr. If he'd just stay clean, all would be well.

I rented the HD DVD over summer and the quality was good and all but IMO this movie isn't worth more than a rental. That is, I couldn't see myself ever wanting to watch it again, HD or not.

The HD-DVD version is superb!

While I too am a huge fan of Robert Downey Jr., I don't think this movie is very high on the repeat viewing scale. Still worth a look though.

While the reviewer gives the slightest edge to HD DVD (for DD+ and a couple of odd features) he fails to mention that due to being a (IMHO useless!) Combo disc, the HD DVD retails for $5 more than the Bluray.

So that slight edge does not come for free and value for money I don't think that slight edge is worth the $5

KKBB is a flick I've been trying to see for years.

Finally bought it and watched it for first time.
Very fun vehicle. Action, comedy, romance, intrigue...it's all here and more.
Downey Jr and Kilmer rock this movie well.

If you like cerebral who-done-its, this one is great bang for the buck.

Agree with the Kiss Kiss Bang Bang love hown here. It's smart, funny, and above all else extremely entertaining. I'm a real sucker for movies shot in and about L.A. even though I've never been there.

And yeah, the video quality is great and the commentary track is priceless. It's one of the few commentary tracks I've listened to more than once.

glad to see other people love this movie, its one of my recent favorites and i never understand why it isnt more popular. its a movie i can watch over and over. and yeah the commentary track is great.

Yeah, it always bugged me when people praised Robert Downey Jr.'s comeback in 2008 with Iron Man and Tropic Thunder when IMO he came back 3 years earlier with Kiss Kiss Bang Bang. What a great flick.

Is it true the Blu-ray transfer is inferior to the HD-DVD? I've been reluctant to replace the HD-DVD after hearing that.
