Default Limited Space Problem & How to Overcome it.

Most of us here if not all have the addiction of buying blu rays and DVDs. New or old.

One thing becomes an obstacle though is the space. No matter how big is your current space, one day for sure you will be out of proper space.
Personally I still have a bit of space for my future purchases but I'm sure in few months I will be out of space and have to look for solutions.

My question is for the ones who faced the problem. How did you cope with it? what did you do? Please share your solutions or opinions. I'm sure they will be useful.

I bought a bigger house

I've seen those large storage ottomans, and they can hold probably 250 Blu-rays.... I'd look into getting those.

I'm running out of space as well. I've been combining movies with their sequels into custom sets and moving collector's sets off of my racks. Unfortunately now the spot I put the collector's sets is almost full and I'm running out of space on my last rack. I'm thinking about building some custom shelves to maximize the space I have.

Default Get a shed.

Build a shed, then put all your unimportant stuff in it, like your wife and kids.

Also, not to get too hung up on That Issue, but....how about NOT blind-buying?

(Yes, we know, "you're adventurous!" You're "a maverick!" You "love the thrill of the unknown!" You're "thumbing your nose at the cineplexes!"
But as you long as you haven't stepped into a rental for years, A&E has a different name for you: You're a Hoarder. And they had to buy bigger houses and drop their wife and kids, too.)

Your movies and cases seem to be part of your decor and as with any decor, the old stuff has to be boxed or in your case, maybe put into binders.

Or like someone said, get a bigger house and have all your rooms look alike with movie cases all over the place.

I hope that didn't sound wrong or mean.

I'm curious, what do you watch this stuff on or listen with?

I've been combining certain movies together. Like putting a pair (or more) of sequels into one case. Both "French Connection" movies in one, the original and remake for "I Spit on Your Grave" in one, both "Conan" movies and "Red Sonja" in one, etc...

I've combining similar movies into one case, like "Lost In Space," "Wing Commander," "Mission to Mars," and "Red Planet" all in one case.

I've combined DVDs and BDs together when needed.

I've placed some movies I've doubled up on in a separate storage container (like the US version of "Total Recall," which has a DVD copy inside as well, but I got the UK BD on the shelf. Holy crap, I have a ton of copies of that movie...).

I've been replacing some DVDs with BDs.

All of that has helped clear some space. But naturally, the shelves are getting full again. My last ditch efforts will probably be:

Selling some movies I couldn't care less about (yeah, fat chance, because I like 'em all ).

Or, I'm considering buying one of those CD wallet things that can hold hundreds of discs and putting some DVDs in them. Moving all those seasons of CSI, all those anime shows, and various other discs, will clear up loads of room!
