"Smash" Steven Spielbergs musical with Katherine Mcphee - Blu-ray Forum

Has anyone seen the trailer? NBC has their hit right there. Katherine is an amazing singer, and if she's good enough for a speilberg show, she must be able to act.

I've always wondered how much a producer like Steven Spielberg has to do with the TV shows that bear his name, because this year alone he's been an executive producer on Terra Nova, Locke & Key, and Smash, as well as a producer on TNT's Falling Skies, plus he's been busy in pre-production with his Lincoln film and directed Tintin and War Horses which both come out this year.

Yeah it does seem like he has a lot more to do this year alone then usual. I could see him doing a lot more for Terra Nova and Falling Skies and very little for this show but who really knows it could be the other way around.

Haven't seen the trailer and never heard her sing, but she was highly amusing as Pierce's stepdaughter on Community. Don't you remember?

I've heard her sing live. She's pretty amazing.

Just watched the trailer. Katherine is one good lookin broad, a lot better than her "competition" but I still don't think this show is for me. It could have broad appeal and be a huge hit but I don't expect to be watching.

Yeah I'm still undecided after watching the trailer. Still not sure how this is like Glee though as it keeps being mentioned as the same type of show as Glee as the only thing in common was music but that's like saying Hawaii Five-0 is like CSI becuase both involve murders.

From what I could tell it looked like Smash will use real music, not just whatever is popular that they can bump up the Itunes charts.

Yeah and it seems like Smash won't be signing 4-5 songs per episode either.

I also believe there was more character depth in that 4 minute trailer than 2 seasons of Glee.
