Default Anybody get constant sore throats?

This is my third time in 3 months. I try to avoid going out in the cold as much as possible. I hate that Im going to miss lessons again today. Doctor will have to give me some other antibiotic, because Biaxin doesnt seem to do much.

If you don't have one, get a humidifier for your room at night. (for the winter months)

Ha, you're like LeAnn. She gets sick all the time. Actually more than the average person I believe.

I haven't had a cold in about 2 years and I'm being serious. I never had the flu since 2008. No shot, no nothing. Soup and water are my friends.

Very good advice. Had same problems here for the longest time in winter. Doctor recommended I get a humidifier for the winter, sleep much better and a lot less problems as well

Ive heard diffrent stories about humidifiers, on how much they actually help. I will take the suggestion and get one. Im the type where if I dont get an antibiotic, the sore throat will nag me forever.

I got rid of my sore throat in less than 24hours. Now, I constantly get sinus infections because of where I work though =(

Haven't been sick in a year or so.

When I do get a sore throat, I usually drink lots of tea (especially mint or fruity ones), soups, and cough drops. And I gurgle a glass of water with a tablespoon or so of vinegar in the morning. I think I heard that gurgling salt water can help too.

If you get a humidifier make sure to change the filter on a regular basis or you may just be adding bacteria into the mix.

You may get a sore throat if you snore too

I have never had the flu, or a flu shot. I have sinus issues once or twice a year but nothing that I would make a doctor visit for. I had a head cold a couple years ago and everybody was dropping off homemade chicken soup for me. My homeopatic cough syrup(whiskey, honey, lemon juice and cayenne pepper) helped more I think.

I only ever had them when I used to smoke. Get it for a few days then it would go away, only to come back. My doctor always yelled at me to quit.

I don't often get sore throats, but I have a chronic cough, kind of like smoker's cough, but I don't smoke.

Tea is a good choice, especially if you can get honey.

Like Al, I too have heard that salt water gurgles help.

On a side note, if you are constantly having the same problem reoccur, I know what I would do, would be sure that everything I use is sanitized so that I am not going to risk recontamination. For example a bleach solution rinse on dishes. Not reusing the same water bottle/container.

Also, if you have sinus drainage, it could also be causing a sore throat.

Good luck though. I hope you get well soon.

Be careful on the antibiotics. If you have sore throats as often as you say using antibiotics often will promote the resistant bacteria, and you will have a problem where antibiotics will not work that well if at all. The best advice is to try to stay away from the antibiotics if at all possible because of this. The zyrtec may help, I get sore throats often because of allergies and drainage, they are not bacterial ever.

I apologize for him...... he's often very nebulous in his inquiries.

He's wondering, if your place of residence is here:

Or here:

I'm sure MaCruz didn't intend to confuse you....

Yeah sorry for the confusion. Beta Man knows how to better explain things. I guess I need to quit multitasking here & work.

Carry on everyone.

BTW, it's the heart of Flu season in my area. I just need to get to April and I'll be sick free all year once again. ::Knockonwood::

I don't

Try to gargle your mouth with warm water and salt.

I gargle warm very diluted salt water-it helps honestly! I also drink lots of fluids especially orange juice. Make sure you are taking your vitamins and get plenty of sleep.
