Default My Zone

Recently added some photos of my set up. So far I received ratings and 2 comments, all very nice.

I really enjoy my system. I'm very thankful I'm able to have what I have. It's not lost on me that I'm 23 but have a set-up like this. Sure, it's not as good as some of the truly spectacular systems I've seen here, but to me it's great. I thoroughly enjoy and appreciate it.

The function for the room is sortta two-in-one. I live in an in-law at my parents (part of the reason why I can afford my set-up in this economy), so I don't have a lot of rooms. I wanted certain aspects of a man cave, the mini-fridge, not having to leave for hours, but I also wanted a more living room look and feel. So I have a mini-fridge and trash cans in here while then the rest is more of a living room. With the mini-fridge I just finish a drink, toss it out, get another all while in the same area. Yes, I'm a lazy bum... Or am I just efficient?

Btw, I suck at taking pictures, and the only reason they came out this good is dumb luck.

-Sam

Well done! The "frame" you had designed around the tv, what is that made of?

I'd like to thank all of you for posting nice comments in my theater link thing and this thread. I will get back to each of you individually, but lately I've been preoccupied.

And to those who rate, thank you for that too. While I don't care if I get a poor rating, long as it's a honest opinion, I appreciate the good ratings as well.

I myself am a little weary of rating others theaters, because how does one do that? Some are obliviously designed, decor wise, for the owners own particular taste, while others are more traditional. Anybody else know what I mean? Ones that feature Star Wars memorabilia for example. I'm not a Star Wars fan (don't hurt me) but the owner is. I would have no right to rate it low, but I wouldn't want to rate it high. So I don't rate sometimes and leave a nice comment.

At any rate, thank you all.

It's wood molding. One is strained more of a dark cherry, and one is stained I think pine.

In between the lighter stained (pine) molding is just some custom color blue paint. I originally was thinking granite slabs sunk in the wall with the molding around it, but that was gonna cost a bit and I was worried about it being too shiny around the tv area. Plus I have a good amount of black already in the room, speaker, curtains, tv... I didn't want to over do the black.

Looks really nice, you did a good job. As for rating other galleries, there's no pressure for you to do so, a comment on anyone's gallery is more than enough I think.

Thanks. Hired a fella to do it. I mean I could have done it myself... It's fairly simple. Buy big long strips, cut at at 45 degree angel, stain them bit of glue and some nailing. It was summer, and I'd rather go swimming than do that. Or maybe I'm just wicked lazy... And does anybody who's not from Massachusetts say wicked?
