FX Orders 'American Horror Story' from Ryan Murphy

Murphy is set to direct the pilot for American Horror Story, whose premise is being kept under wraps. Filming will begin in April after production on Glee wraps. Murphy and Falchuk previously teamed to write the daring FX pilot Pretty/Handsome, starring Joseph Fiennes as a transsexual father, which was also directed by Murphy. FX ultimately passed on it, but it has high hopes for American Horror Story - should it get picked up to series, the network plans to start production in late spring for a fall debut. 20th Century Fox TV, where Murphy and Falchuk are based, is producing, with Murphy, Falchuk and Dante Di Loreto executive producing. Murphy said he and Falchuk had been discussing the idea for American Horror Story for a while. Separately, he had had "an open invitation" from Landgraf to develop a new show for the cable network. "FX is the perfect place for this series and we look forward to a great homecoming,” Murphy said. He was quick to reaffirm his commitment to Glee. “Fans can rest assured that we haven’t taken our eyes off that ball for a second," he said. "We’ve broken the stories for the season’s remaining episodes and we’ve got big things planned for our little glee club as it strives to make it past Regionals to the all-important Nationals competition in New York City.”
That's what I was thinking. I watched every episode of Nip/Tuck and outside of Robert LaSardo in the early episodes, I could never figure out why I even watched it lol.

Violet | The Harmons’ 16-year-old daughter is a goth with more issues than a Borders magazine rack.
Tate Langdon | This 17-year-old is as dangerous as he is seductive. And not “Glee’s Puck dangerous,” either; we’re talking “Charles Manson dangerous.”
I watched every episode of Nip/Tuck and I never figured out why cause I never really liked it. Glee well, it started with promise and went to crap. But yeah I agree with you, this sounds like everything else that has been done many many many times. There are so many excellent fall pilots I'm looking forward to and this is not one I will be watching. But I do feel it is my duty to report the news. "Just the facts ma'am"

Whenever a show has a secret premise it always makes me think the people behind the show haven't even decided what it is even about yet, lol.
Yeah it will be nice to find out what the show's actually about. I also think they haven't finalized all the details when they keep things under wraps as IMO keeping a pilots plot secrete just doesn't make any sense at all. I mean a movie's plot or ending I understand but a pilot is just not something I would think of keeping a secret.

Taissa Farmiga, Evan Peters Round Out Ryan Murphy's American Horror Story

Relative newcomer Taissa Farmiga (kid sis of Up in the Air star Vera) has been cast as the troubled offspring of Britton and McDermott’s characters in American Horror Story, the FX drama pilot from Glee EPs Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk.
Additionally, Invasion and One Tree Hill grad Evan Peters has landed the series regular role of Tate, a patient of McDermott’s shrink character who is described as “Charles Manson dangerous.”
The Horror ensemble also includes Oscar winner Jessica Lange and True Blood‘s Denis O’Hare. Not to shabby this group.
Alexandra is starting to become very in demand, and I am highly happy with this as she is talented and incredibly gorgeous. Too bad her pilot didn't get picked up, but she's finding plenty of other shows to appear in anyways.

Young, whose credits include The Social Network and "Days of Our Lives", will play Leah, a pretty senior and leader of the mean girls who torment Violet Harmon (Taissa Farmiga).
"The mysterious thriller revolves around husband and wife Ben (The Practice's Dylan McDermott) and Vivien Harmon (Friday Night Lights' Connie Britton) who move their family from Boston to a haunted San Francisco home in an attempt to rebuild their family after a miscarriage and affair."
Frances Conroy and Alexandra Breckenridge recently joined the cast -- both playing Moira O’Hara, a housekeeper who has worked at the haunted home at the center of the drama for years. Moira will appear as a woman in her 60s (Conroy) to Vivien, while a younger version (Breckenridge) will appear to Ben.
Young joins a cast that includes Evan Peters as mysterious teen Tate Langdon; Jessica Lange as the Harmons’ nosy neighbor; and Denis O’Hare as Larry the Burn Guy, a former resident of the home.
