Is it still worth buying new BD's the week of release ?

I had been pretty frugal on buying new BluRay's up until last year & a half .
Bought the majority used or when a good sell was on , then went a bit crazy buying lots of new releases .
After taking a bath on price drops on The Flash season 1 , Gotham season 1 & several others seems like it's better to just wait unless it's a limited production run on something you really want .
Been getting some great deals on stuff used lately and killer deals on new non-used TV sets of late , makes me think about chilling on buying new stuff .
But on the other hand I want them to keep making new product although i feel they overprice still .
