Default Rental Cars

When you rent a car, do you pamper it and drive it gently?

You should always get the insurance.

Less than honest rental car companies blame damage on people who didn't get the insurance, even if someone else damaged the car.

If you don't get the insurance be at least careful to photograph the car when you return it to use as evidence if need be.

Myself, I just drive rental cars 'normally'.

I read on Car and Driver that they had a guy who rented one of those Shelby Mustangs from Hertz (the black with gold stripe ones) and took it straight to a club racing track. Somehow Hertz found out and pulled the plug on him. LOL.

Apparently club days aren't in the contract.
