I remember NES coming out.... I remember my birthday, followed by Christmas...... and then followed by the conversation I had with my mother about how I wasn't going to get one because it would rot my brain....

Nope, I was a Sega Genesis player, m'self.

Won a free console in a college contest as second place, for beating the competition at "Michael Jackson's Moonwalker", but never quite being able to figure out the Baseball game enough to get first place.

I will admit, the graphics were terrible but we didn't know that, Nintendo was the golden age in gaming, it's a shame the Wii doesn't quite measure up. Still waiting for one more price drop on the Wii.

To me the ps1 was the golden age, but the nes was a classic era and a lot more fun then frogger or the choices of winter..... or summer..... olympics on my atari.

Yea man I can remember my fun days with the NES like it was yesterday. It was the highest gaming peak for me. The Wii is a very good system but its hard for it to measure up to what I think is the greatest gaming system of all time. Got Em!!

Age may also play a part in this. Thats funny u mentioned the Atari as it is right behind the NES for me and sits at number 2 overall in my eyes. I had great memories of that system as well. Got Em!!

Never had NES, my mom was one of those parents that didn't want their kid playing videogames, watching shows like The Simpsons, playing with toy guns or drinking pop. My childhood videogame memories come from playing at friends houses.

My first system of my own was the Playstation which my dad got me for Christmas one year, he had it modded and came with a bunch of burned games... way to set an example dad

That's odd as my mom was in revrese. Okay, so I was 6 and I was playing Mortal Kombat. I've seen a whole bunch of violent movies/knew about adult issues. Of course with my Dad being abusive before the divorce that grew me up a bit. My mom always though us as mature for our age (she got rid of toys when I was 9 dang it!). But when the GCN/PS2 era ushered in THAT'S when the restrictions set in. I'm not sure what happened, but the first GTA I played was GTAIV and I just got it!

I remeber me having to sell all of my N64,SNES, GCN games because the games included magic and stuff. I also got rid of my Yu-GiOh cards and Just got Xodia. Weird moments in my life. Now it's all fine, but I hate when parents find new philosophies in life.....
