I have a question about blu-ray titles -- from all studios, but especially MGM titles -- that were available exclusively at Best Buy before becoming available in general at other retailers. I wanted to know if their prices dropped soon after becoming generally available elsewhere, or if they largely stayed the same.
I can't recall now which titles were initially Best Buy exclusives but it would be nice to see their price trackers while they were BB exclusives and their trackers after they became available elsewhere, like at Amazon.com. Right now, a few films I really want to buy are available only at Best Buy and are priced at $16.99 at the stores in my city. The Manchurian Candidate (1962) and Hotel Rwanda are among them. That's certainly not a terrible price at all, but I just have this feeling that, once Best Buy's exclusivity deal ends, the prices will drop a bit. And I always like to save money, especially on blu-rays. Did prices drop? What do you prefer to do in this situation? |
