Hong Kong Mr. & Mrs. Incredible

Vincent Kok's Mr. & Mrs. Incredible (2011) is set to be released on Blu-ray on March 18th. Courtesy of MegaStar.

PRE ORDER

Mr. and Mrs. Incredible Blu-ray

Synopsis:
Quote:
Renowned Hong Kong filmmaker Peter Chan (Bodyguards and Assassins) takes a diversion from his usual serious stuff to produce the first ever Chinese superhero comedy Mr. and Mrs. Incredible! Louis Koo (All's Well End's Well 2011) and Sandra Ng (I Love Hong Kong) topline the latest laughfest from director Vincent Kok (Forbidden City Cop) and his co-writer Steven Fung (Shaolin Soccer), both of them frequent creative collaborators of Stephen Chow. With witty humor and comical fight scenes aplenty, the whimsical action comedy reportedly rocked the Cannes film market by breaking the sales price record for an Asian comedy held by Chow's Kung Fu Hustle. Released theatrically during the lucrative Lunar New Year frame of 2011, Mr. and Mrs. Incredible co-stars Chapman To (La Comedie Humaine), Wang Bo Chieh (Bodyguards and Assassins), Wen Zhang (Ocean Heaven), and newcomer Li Qin (The Dream Of Red Mansions).

Picked up a copy in Macau today. Came with a little puffy thing and a stylus.

Please watch it and let us know how the movie is - if it's funny or actually really stupid? And if the subtitles are a good translation.

Cool blu-ray cover.

Can anyone post the full trailer to this film? I couldn't find any trailers to this film on youtube except for those teasers which don't really show enough of the film (the ones where the couple is just sitting talking to each other).

Sorry. I've been caught up with work. Lot of late hours and early mornings. The second I get a chance, I'll check the blu-ray out. Unless someone beats me to it.

Okay. I watched it this afternoon and really enjoyed it. If you're looking for a full-on action film, this isn't it. About 85 percent of the movie is about a retired couple living in a small village. Some situations arise that allow them to show off their powers but the film is really about two people trying to find a happy life together. Louis Koo and Sandra Ng have great chemistry and I connected with them easily. They feel like a real couple with real couple issues. Humor-wise, it's exactly the type of film I would expect from people who have worked with Stephen Chow. The humor is in the same vein as Kung Fu Hustle and Shaolin Soccer with moments of drama, action and romance.

The Blu-Ray looks good with the set up I have in Macau (VDigi Player connected HDMI to a Panasonic television). I'd have to give it another spin once I return to the states to see if there's any real issues.

Subtitles are good. Occasionally, there's a grammar issue or subtitles moving a bit too fast to read but not often enough to get annoying. I didn't notice any misspellings.

I don't have a surround system out here so I really can't comment on what it really sounded like. The movie sounded just fine coming through TV speakers.

I recommend the movie if you enjoyed Kung Fu Hustle and other films in that style.
