Default All movies that have an Extended Edition or Directors Cut should get 2 disk release

I was just thinking that all movies that have an Extended or Directors Cut should get a two disk release. I think that most Extended or Director's Cut are better (Das Boot but I have to assume the Wolfgang Petersons Directors Cut was better, but I liked the original narative flow of Sin City better.)

So I think taht all movies that have two releases shold come on two disks so the people who liked the original cut could watch that, and people who liked the Extended or Directors Cut could watch those.

That's what seamless branching is for. Most of those extended editions and directors cuts don't have enough difference to qualify for a different disc, just add in the parts that were different or extra.

yeah,

Perfect job for seemless branching. I think DVD's even accomplished this on some titles.

Like Spider-Man 2 will have seamless branching... So will this actually be seamless? Or will there be like slight pauses as it switches over to the new footage and then when it switches back over to the main title or how's it work?

I can think of a few movies where the directors cut/extended cut makes the movie much better.
1. Daredevil (if you liked the theatrical version, you will love the DC; if you didn't like the original version, the DC might change your mind)
2. Kingdom of Heaven (took a almost unwatchable movie and made it into one of the best of its genre)
3. Almost Famous (made a great movie even better)
4. LotR- (long but worth it)

My only request would be for the 2 disc DC/Original cut Blu-ray come out day and date with the standard theatrical cut blu-ray, no more double-dips.

it does a 180 on one character and introduces a secondary character as well. One affable character turned not so likeable in the directors cut.

Donnie Brasco and Donnie Darko are two that the Director's/Extended cut are way better than the theatrical. I honestly don't think I've seend an extended cut that I thought was worse than the theatrical

I wish the theatrical version of Payback was released. I absolutely hate the director's cut. Ruined the entire movie for me starting with losing the VO and colorizing the damn thing.
