I just had my electrician come out and he told me that if I'm going in-wall, it's best to just go in-wall with all of the wires to make everything look clean. He's been my electrician for quite some time now and does an incredible job with everything I ask of him and gives me great prices.
However, this all means I need some different cables than I have now. Some suggestions on different wires would be very much appreciated. 1) In-wall HDMI cable. I assume I just need one going from my UMC-1 to the TV since the rest of the cords are all just going up and down the back of the rack, which I'll get shorter HDMI cords for. 2) In-wall speaker wire. I'm going to be using 14 gauge for my MartinLogans, since that's what the company recommended me. Also, I need some for my surrounds. My assumption is I'll need 150 feet for everything (fronts and surrounds). I'll be using banana plugs on the ends of all the cables. 3) Speaker mounts for my surrounds. Each of my surrounds are small and weigh only 4 pounds. I've been looking all over and everywhere I've found this stuff was charging WAY too much. I need all of this before next week since that's when all of the work will be done with running wires and putting the mounts up. |
